It seems like ...I don't let the losses get me down. It seems like every week or so, they blow a 12-run lead or something. This past weekend was just the latest in a nearly 2-season-long stretch of this kind of shit. This year's team though, has shown a weird ability to bounce back. It's like they play great some days, then couldn't hang in TBO on others.

You might call them schizophrenic.

But, of course, that'd be stupid.Open Barhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296373954499786645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2822678093661476153.post-7623948804783897282008-09-16T16:01:00.000-04:002008-09-16T16:01:00.000-04:00... he stood about six or seven feet / now that's ...... he stood about six or seven feet / now that's the nigga I be seein' in my sleep!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2822678093661476153.post-62436255413822617352008-09-16T13:51:00.000-04:002008-09-16T13:51:00.000-04:00When it's clear that the team has not heart and do...When it's clear that the team has not heart and doesn't really care, then it's easier as a fan to have no heart and not really care.

Last year I think that was definitely the case. I think the team was and is largely made up of guys who didn't really want to be Mets. Delgado, Beltran, Wagner, Heilman, and last year Glavine and Shawn Green. I think Randolph felt like he was never really wanted in the first place and so tempered his emotions. In the end, a lot of them really just didn't care.

This year is a little bit different. I like the urgency that Manuel brings. Delgado under Manuel is a completely different player (which says that he sold out Randolph, but that's another story.)

I think those guys I mentioned before feel like they ahve something to prove and are at least playing for personal pride if not team pride. Delgado and Beltran especially are playing well recently when they just looked complacent last year.

What remains to be seen this year is who will suck it up the most, the Brewers or the Mets. Let's not forget that the Brewers also collapsed at the end of last season and missed the playoffs, so it's just going to be a who can suck less-fest.ChuckJerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16596845287728762643noreply@blogger.com
