The Knicks today are going to name Donnie Walsh the president or something of the team. He's basically gonig to be in charge of every aspect of the Knicks and will report directly to James Dolan. All of this is well and good, but this is the last chance I'm giving the Knicks to keep me as a fan.
If Isiah Thomas is still with the team next year, then I'm done with them. If they don't have enough goddamned sense to get rid of him, then they don't care about me and I, therefore, can no longer care about them.

The Isiah thing does doesn't add up; there's some part of the story that the public doesn't know. Maybe he has some grade-A blackmail on James Dolan? Who knows. Unfortunately, the piece of the puzzle that explains why -- in a sport that's pretty ruthless about discarding coaches who don't meet lofty expectations (e.g. the Rockets dropping Jeff Van Gundy because he "only" got them to the first round of the playoffs) -- Isiah has been allowed to put in year-after-year of subpar performance.
If Isiah doesn't have something on Dolan, that's even weirder. I mean, clearly Dolan likes little boys or something. Isn't Isiah an amateur photographer? Hmmm...
People forget that Isiah was blamed for running the CBA into the ground:

He only paid $5 million, it's not like it was a huge industry anyway. Still, I remember reading a big article in Sports Illustrated at the time which really slammed Isiah, and his being a poor businessman being in the back of my mind about him when he came to NY.
