Finally

Tonight, Carlos Beltran is batting second. Jerry Manuel says he intends to keep him there for a while.

This is great news. I think (especially with Carlos Delgado hitting like circa-1999-Carlos-Delgado) this is an excellent move. It's something I've wanted for a long time.

I predict great things.

Let's all calm down. Every Mets fan who knows how baseball works has wanted Beltran hitting second forever. This is just a move that makes a lot of sense.

It wasn't your idea, Side, nor yours, Open. Just like Jiggedy J. Strauss didn't invent the word "Dudical".

1. If it makes that much sense why did it take until August to happen?

2. It may not have been my idea, but I was suggesting it three months ago. Al Gore didn't discover global warming, but he won the nobel peace prize because he was out in front of that shit before everyone else.

I was the first person ever to have the idea of batting Beltran second.

It didn't take until August. It took 4 years to bat Beltran 2nd. I have been having conversations (off line, so maybe they didn't even count) since they signed him about how he should really be batting 2nd.

It's not like people just started talking about it this year even.

Cool out Billy Beane and Theo Epstein. Beltran batting second is hardly a revelation.
