The Best April Fool's Day Joke Ever

If you've never read the full story of Sidd Finch, the Mets prospect whom George Plimpton profiled in the April 1, 1985, issue of Sports Illustrated, here is a nice excerpt of the oddball pitcher who could hit 168 m.p.h. with his fastball and wore a hiking boot when he took the mound.

There is also a nice summary of it all here.

(The full story is available if you're an S.I. subscriber.)
