3 down, 159 to go

What an amazing start for the Mets.

To recap, in one of the most lopsided sweeps you can hope to see this year, the Mets scored 20 runs, collected 31 hits, made no errors, and got 20 innings of nearly perfect baseball from the front end of their rotation; the bullpen did not surrender a single run in seven innings pitched. Highlights included John Maine's 7 innings of one hit baseball last night, flashy defense all three nights, and Carlos Beltran's two home runs on Wednesday.

Bring on the Braves.

For the record, I have been on the John Maine bandwagon since last August.

And definitely a great start for the Mets. You could not ask for three better games. None of them were even in doubt in the later innings.
